AMPANG - A prominent businessman's home in Taman Pandan Mewah was shot at four times by a gunman on a motorcycle as he and his family were asleep in the early hours.
It is learnt that the motorcyclist fired four shots at the double-storey house at about 5.45am yesterday.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairuldin Saad said the suspect was clad in a black jacket and full-face helmet.
"A security guard at his post heard what sounded like an explosion before rushing to the scene and finding glass shards scattered near one of the windows at the house," he said.
He added that the gunman then fled the scene.
No one was harmed in the incident.
Police have recorded statements from the house owner, believed to be a Datuk, as well as the security guard to facilitate investigation.
The businessman, in his 50s, was at home with four family members and a foreign maid.
"A slug and a bullet casing were found at the scene," ACP Khairuldin said.
Police are investigating the motive behind the shooting.
