MALAYSIA - A 27-year-old lorry driver was shot in his right shoulder by a lone gunman in Sungai Tiram, Bayan Lepas, here.
He had just alighted from his lorry when the gunman came up from behind him at about 11.20pm on Sunday and fired a shot at him before fleeing.
The victim managed to stagger to his house and seek help from his family members who rushed him to the Penang Hospital.
According to him, the gunman, who was wearing a hooded top, had called out to him out in a strong Kelantanese accent.
When he responded, the gunman opened fire.
Balik Pulau deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Siti Nor Salawati Saad said police recovered a live 9mm Luger bullet near the lorry.
