IPOH - The police have found a headless body of a man in a drain in Batu 4, Slim River near Tanjung Malim.

Perak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Goh Kok Liang said the body was stumbled upon by a passerby who alerted the police at about 2.10am on Friday.

He said the victim has been identified as K. Ganesan, 50, whose last known address was at 136, Taman Slim Indah, Slim River.

"The police found traces of blood at the crime scene.

"Further investigations led us to the 35-year-old suspect, who was found at his father's house in Kampung Air Jada in Gerik at 2pm the same day," he said.

SAC Goh said police found a plastic bag believed to be the victim's head.

"Police also found a 0.8m parang and a sling bag containing a 0.15m knife.

"We believe the suspect and the victim had earlier fought before the latter was killed and beheaded," he said.

SAC Goh added that the suspect has been remanded to facilitate investigation into the alleged murder.
