KUALA LUMPUR - The body of a young foreign woman, who is believed to have died from being bashed in the head, was found dumped by a drain in Alam Impian.

The woman, who is believed to be in her 20s, was found by a drain in front of a sales gallery along Jalan Hang Nadim 35/27 at 4.26pm on Monday.

The woman's head was bloodied and there were injury marks on her back, ears and arms. A post-mortem showed that she died of blunt force trauma to the head, said Shah Alam deputy OCPD Supt Ruslan Abdullah.

Police are now calling on the family of the still unidentified woman or members of the public to come forward to assist them in the murder investigation.

Police believe the woman was killed in a separate location about eight hours prior to being found. Her body is believed to have been dumped at the site by her murderer.

"We are unable to ascertain her identity or nationality, as checks found she did not have a BCG mark.

"The woman was dressed in a white T-shirt, blue D.S brand jeans with a green belt. She was wearing brown canvas shoes," he said.

Those with information on the case are asked to contact the Shah Alam police at 03-5520 2220.
