Hide-and-seek game ends in tragedy for 11-year-old girl

A hide-and-seek game ended in tragedy for an 11- year-old girl, who fell from the ninth floor at a block of flats in Bakri, near Muar, reported Berita Harian.

Nurul Elies Natasha Abdul Aziz was playing with her neighbours in Block F1 of the 6th Battalion of General Operations Forces quarters, when she slipped and fell in the 5pm incident on Saturday.

She had gone to the water tanks at the top of the nine-storey block and fell through an asbestos-covered portion of the roof.

"She managed to hang on for a while, screaming for help. But she lost her grip and fell," said one of her playmates.

Neighbours quickly telephoned emergency services.

Muar police chief Asst Comm Azman Ayub the case has been classified as sudden death.
