IPOH: A 38-year-old man, who shares almost the same name as the PAS member under fire for allegedly insulting Hinduism during a ceramah, has lodged a police report.

Businessman Shahul Hamid Seeninaina Mohamed claimed to have received calls harassing and insulting him.

He said on Wednesday he had logged on to Facebook to find that someone had published his personal details together with a photograph of the PAS member.

"I do not know how they got my particulars but my name, car number plate, MyKad and my handphone number have been published on a political party's Facebook page.

"Since then, I have received at least 16 calls from people I do not know, harassing and insulting me because they thought I was him," he said yesterday.

Shahul Hamid said he lodged a police report as he was concerned over his and his family's safety.

PAS member Shahul Hamid Seeni Muhammad (top left) was filmed during a closed-door event mocking Hindus over curry powder and "sexy" Hindu idols during a ceramah in Shah Alam.

The video, said to be filmed five years ago, was uploaded in May. He has since apologised.
