Interpol help sought over nudist event

Malaysia has asked Interpol to identify eight foreigners who were filmed at a "beach nudist sports" event in Penang.

The police will also publish pictures of Malaysians involved in the event if they do not to turn themselves in, reported the New Straits Times yesterday.

Seven of the 15 nudists in the video were Malaysians, four of them Singaporeans, two are Myanmar nationals and one is each from the Philippines and India.

One of the nude women, in her 40s, was a former Kedah Wanita chief 20 years ago, said the report.

The police had taken statements from 10 people and groups, excluding the nudists, over the incident.

The video of the nudists had gone viral on social media. It was uploaded onto the Vimeo video-sharing website about two months ago.

The clip showed nine men and six women in the nude, painting their bodies, dancing and participating in sports at the beach.
