Jokowi commences three-day official visit to Malaysia

SEPANG - Indonesian president Joko Widodo has commenced his three-day official visit to Malaysia.

Jokowi, as he is popularly known, arrived at 3.50pm, Thursday at KL International Airport's Bunga Raya complex.

He was greeted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

The national anthems of both Malaysia and Indonesia were played as the president was welcomed with a 21-gun salute during his arrival.

Jokowi's state visit is at the invitation of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah.

The president was accompanied by his wife Iriana Joko Widodo.

He is scheduled to meet with Najib and discuss a wide range of issues, including labour recruitment, maritime territorial and economic matters.

Also present at KLIA were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Transport Minister and MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
