Kedah prince and brother of Malaysia's King dies

ALOR SETAR - Kedah's Raja Muda Tunku Abdul Malik ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, aged 86, passed away due to natural causes at the royal ward of the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here Sunday morning at about 1am.

He was born on Sept 24, 1929 at Istana Anak Bukit and invested as the Kedah Raja Muda in 1981.

Tunku Abdul Malik was the brother of the current Yang diPertuan Agong and Kedah Sultan Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.

On Sept 21, 2015, Tunku Abdul Malik's consort Tengku Raudzah Sultan Hisamuddin passed away at the intensive care unit of the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah.

The Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir will issue an official statement over the matter soon.
