ALOR SETAR: A Kuala Lumpur City Hall worker was killed when his car crashed through a railing along the North-South Expressway (north bound) and plunged into a ravine.

Fendy Abu Kasim, 28, was pinned underneath the driver's seat and died instantly of multiple injuries.

The 6.30am incident, yesterday, occurred when Fendy was on his way to fetch his wife and one-year-old daughter in Kampung Titi Kerbau in Changlun.

He was travelling alone when he crashed through the railing near the Hutan Kampung Toll Plaza here.

Siti Rashiqah Rashim, 23, said she only found out about her husband at about 8am.

"I started getting uneasy when he did not arrive at my parents' home by 7am, so I called him on his handphone.

"After several tries, a policeman answered and informed me that my husband had been killed in a road accident," she said at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Mortuary yesterday.

Siti Rashiqah said her husband had just finished a four-day course in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, last Sunday.

"During his absence, my daughter and I were staying with my parents here.

"My husband was supposed to pick us up today," she said.

Siti Rashiqah said Fendy had not been his usual self in the last three days.

"He did not talk much when we were on the phone, and seldom asked for our daughter," she said. "And now, he is gone."
