KUALA LUMPUR - Bukit Aman has formed a special task force to probe the sale and usage of ganja flavoured electronic cigarettes.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Comm Datuk Mohd Mokthar Mohd Shariff said the task force would investigate allegations that the "unique" flavoured e-cigarettes were rampant in the Klang Valley.

"The task force is currently busy gathering information on the ganja e-cigarettes.

"We want to uncover where such an item is sold and who the target customers are," he told a press conference in Bukit Aman yesterday.

Police, he added, would also decide on the course of legal action against those involved.

"I can assure the public that we have the situation under control and we will get to the bottom of it."

A local daily recently highlighted that e-cigarette merchants were luring more customers after introducing the new ganja flavour.
