MALAYSIA - They would strut around like super models but a group of "lady boys" from Thailand have been labelled as "banshee transvestites" for their aggressive behaviour of scratching and biting enforcement officers who try to arrest them.
Harian Metro reported that these transvestites were found to have taken "control" of certain areas in Ipoh for their activities.
These inlcuded Jalan Yang Kalsom, Jalan Kampar and Jalan CM Yusuf.
State Immigration deputy director Irwan Zahid said they were often aggressive towards the authorities.
"They would fight back," he said. "But that will not deter us."
A check by Harian Metro found that the transvestites would usually prostitute themselves between 9pm and 3am daily.
Some 20 transvestites were seen in one area alone, wooing customers by telling them that they have had sex operations.
