KUALA LUMPUR - Wan Mohd Azri Wan Deris or blogger Papagomo was further remanded for another day.

His lawyer, Ahmad Shuaib Ismail, said police were investigating his client for making public mischief under Section 505 of the Penal Code.

Ahmad Shuaib was unsure whether Papagomo would be released on Friday when the remand ends, noting that Papagomo cannot be charged on Friday due to the Hari Raya holidays.

Papagomo was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly posting a picture of a robbery victim on his social media and linking it to Sunday's Low Yat Plaza brawl.

Police had given him a day to turn himself but he did not. On Tuesday, police went to his house and arrested him.

Ahmad Shuaib also denied that his client was involved in posting racially-charged articles on a new Facebook page called Papagomo Original.

The page had called the Inspector-General of Police "a member of a secret society" and urged Malays to drive out any Chinese they see.

"My client was in lockup at the time those postings were made, so he could not have made them. He is not involved in it," he said.
