KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia will wait for the concept papers by Netherlands and Ukraine on the downing of Flight MH17 before making its official stand on who is at fault, said Datuk Ab Aziz Kaprawi.
The Deputy Transport Minister said it was decided at a meeting on Sept 21 and 22 in Canberra that two concept papers would be drawn up.
"In the meeting, we agreed that any legal recourse apart from trials in national courts or an international tribunal will not be considered.
"For trials in national courts, Ukraine will prepare a concept paper to be used as a means for further discussion, while the Netherlands will prepare a concept paper to identify main elements to draft treaties," he said when wrapping up debates for the Ministry on Budget 2016 at the Dewan Rakyat Tuesday.
On the issue of KLIA2 safety, Ab Aziz assured that the airport was safe and fully operational.
"A safety report has been presented to the Cabinet for further action, and I will refer to the Cabinet to consider a request by MPs that the findings be shared in the Dewan Rakyat," he added.
