Malaysian cops nab snatch theft group

MALACCA - Police have solved several armed robbery and snatch theft cases following the arrest of two men and a woman in a raid at a house in Taman Delima Raya, Bukit Beruang.

Acting on a tip-off, officers picked up two men, aged 28 and 29, and a woman aged 20, from the premises at 1.30am on Thursday.

They recovered five mobile phones, a handbag and two motorcycles, one of which had been reported stolen in Alor Gajah.

Malacca CID chief Asst Comm Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said the three admitted to being involved in snatch thefts in the tourist hotspots of Jonker Walk here and Dataran 1Malaysia in Klebang.

They also admitted to posing as enforcement officers and committing armed robbery by threatening victims with parang, he said here yesterday.

The three would be remanded for five days.
