KEPALA BATAS, Malaysia - A mother and her four children had a rude awakening when they found the front wall of their house and gate riddled with bullets.
Police said their 48-year-old neighbour heard loud noises outside his house in Taman Seri Bertam at about 3am yesterday.
When he rushed out, he saw a car speeding away.
He immediately called his neighbour, who was asleep when the shooting occurred.
The 33-year-old housewife went out and was shocked when she found the front wall and gate pock-marked with small holes. North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said policemen rushed to the house and later found eight bullet holes lodged in the wall and gate.
He added that the woman called up her 35-year-old husband, who was away in Tikam Batu, Kedah.
"The husband, a chicken farmer, rushed back and lodged a police report," he said.
ACP Abdul Rahman said the woman and her four children, aged between one and 13, were unhurt.
