Malaysian PM prays for ferry victims

KUALA LUMPUR - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has offered his prayers to those affected by the South Korean ferry tragedy in which 28 people were killed and over 270 are missing.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the ferry tragedy in South Korea," he said on his Twitter account.

Media reports on the tragedy said 28 of the 475 passengers and crew on the ferry had been officially declared dead and 179 had been rescued.

Passengers on board the vessel, which capsized on Wednesday, included over 300 high school students and teachers, who were on a four-day school trip.

The ferry was en route to Jeju island when it capsized.
