The police are waiting for further directive from the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) after it had resubmitted the investigation papers on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), the Home Ministry said.

It said the probe papers have been submitted to the AGC several times but were returned with several instructions.

"The police have carried out investigations as directed and have referred them to the AGC," the ministry said in a written reply dated Nov 2 to Tony Pua (DAP-Petaling Jaya Utara).

Pua had asked for updates on investigations involving former 1MDB chief executive officer Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Hilmi and other management officials of the state investment arm, as suggested by the Public Accounts Committee.

Last Wednesday, Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali directed the police to conduct further investigations into 1MDB due to a lack of evidence in certain aspects of the case.
