IPOH - A man and his two children were killed when their motorcycle was hit from the back by a car in Lekir near Sitiawan.
Suhaini Abu Samat, 39, and his sons, who were riding pillion, were flung from the motorcycle to the far side of the road during the 10pm incident yesterday.
Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Jaafar Baba said the family had come out to a junction from Batu 6 in Lekir, onto the right side of the lane, when a car heading towards the same direction crashed into their motorcycle.
Due to the impact, Suhaini, who was self-employed, his sons Mohamad Kuzaimy, seven, and Haikal Firdaus, five, were flung off the motorcycle.
"They landed on the opposite side of the lane," he said.
All three died on the spot while the driver of the car sustained light injuries.
"We have arrested the 28-year-old who is a tuition teacher to help in the investigation," added ACP Jaafar.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
