KAJANG, Malaysia - A forty-five-year-old man was beaten up at a car wash in Sungai Tangkas here, over a motorcycle helmet which his son had borrowed but failed to return.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said the victim was having his car washed when he was approached by a man at about 4.15pm on Wednesday.

"The man asked the victim a few questions to find out his identity.

"After finding out that the victim was the father of the boy who borrowed his son's motorcycle helmet, he started beating him," he said.

ACP Ab Rashid said the victim's son had borrowed the helmet from the assailant's son but had not returned it.

"The victim's son had lost the helmet and the person he had borrowed it from had asked for RM50 as compensation.

"However, the boy only gave him RM20 (S$7.42) instead of the RM50 he asked for," he said.

He explained that this had caused the lender's father to assault the victim.
