A man was arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly posing as a software developer and duping nearly 30 women by promising to marry them.
Tamil Nesan reported that Panati Sasi Kumar, 24, even took Rs1.5 lakh (S$3,151) from one of them, promising that he could help get her sister a job with a software firm.
In her complaint, the woman said Kumar had approached her online after seeing her in a matrimony portal in July. He met her and promised to marry her.
However, he stopped taking phone calls from the woman later.
Police investigations showed that Kumar frequented matrimony websites and chatted with "prospective brides".
