An argument with his wife turned fatal for a 36-year-old-man when he suddenly jumped out of a moving car in Sibu, reported Harian Metro.
The incident on Tuesday happened in front of the couple's children, aged two and 13, who were also in the car.
Semeli Ulik, a labourer, was said to be riled up after his wife Empu Entalang told him to stop his drinking habit.
Entalang said Ulik had gone to work at a construction site in the morning and that she had picked him up during his lunch break to meet his mother, who was visiting from the village.
"However, when I reached the construction site, I saw him drinking alcohol so I told him off.
"My intention was good. I wanted him to change," she said.
Entalang said that while they were arguing, Ulik suddenly opened the car door while it was speeding along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce and jumped out.
"I am shocked and our children are still traumatised," she said.
Passers-by who witnessed the harrowing incident quickly contacted the police and paramedics for help, but Ulik was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.
