A managing director who was investigated by the special task force investigation 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) has been released.
Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Ab Rahman allowed the 48-year-old man, who carries the title Datuk, to be released on RM100,000 bail with two sureties.
He was detained under Section 17 (A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act which covers bribery.
He was earlier arrested on Saturday and remanded for four days. There was no request from MACC deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Sazilee Abdul Khairi to extend the remand when the man was brought to the magistrate's court here as his statement had been taken.
