SEPANG - A minor mistake on a Malaysia Airlines ticket helped save the lives of a three-month-old baby and her parents.

Barry Rahman Sim, 44, and his wife Izwani Rahman, 31, were initially upset with MAS for not allowing them to board the plane, and had argued with the staff.

"But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise," said Barry, a Scotsman who was in Amsterdam for a business trip.

The family subsequently flew on KLM from Amsterdam to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

"God has given us a second chance," said Barry.

He said they had desperately wanted to be on the MAS flight to return to celebrate Hari Raya with his in-laws in Perak.

"My wife and I were persistent as we were loyal MAS customers," added Barry, as Izwani expressed her gratitude to God for giving her the chance to live on and celebrate the occasion with her family.
