MH370: Malaysia to send three chairmen to Australia
Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said that there had been no let up in intensity in the Australian-led search operation which was racing against the clock to find the black box.

SEPANG, Malaysia - Malaysia will have two representatives in the Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC) that is helping in the search for missing Flight MH370.

Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the representatives were Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) principal assistant director Noor Izhar Baharin, who is the officer in charge of DCA's Search and Rescue (SAR) and air safety, and Kuala Lumpur Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre assistant director Muhammad Irfan Ahmad Baidove.

"I have spoken to Air Chief Marshal (Rtd) Angus Houston, who heads the JACC, about this and also the possibility of sending the chairmen of the three ministerial committees to Perth soon.

"Either them or the committees' representatives will be sent to discuss with JACC on what else need to be done as we move forward," he said after inspecting the operational readiness and airport transfer (ORAT) exercise of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) yesterday.

The three ministerial committees that were recently set up to streamline the search efforts are the next-of-kin committee headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin, the technical committee headed by Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi and the deployment of assets committee led by Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri.

Hishammuddin said he also discussed with Houston on the deployment of the autonomous underwater vessel (AUV) Bluefin-21.

"This is one way forward which is something we will not announce until we are sure that those signals are coming from the (MH370's) black box," he said.

He added that there had been no let up in intensity in the Australian-led search operation which was racing against the clock to find the black box.
