MH370 pilot Zaharie's family tries to move on

PETALING JAYA - The family of MH370's pilot Capt Zaharie Ahmad Shah is soldiering on, although they harbour hopes that he is still alive.

Zaharie's schoolmate and family friend Dr Mohd Ghouse Noor said life went on for the family members although most of them felt a sense of frustration.

"Everybody is trying to move on. They are, however, frustrated because there is no closure," he said.

"The plane apparently ended in the southern Indian Ocean but to this day, no wreckage has been found," said Dr Ghouse, who is moderator of the "Friends of Captain Zaharie MH370" Facebook page.

He said although Zaharie's siblings had posted a "farewell" video on the popular social networking site, they still hoped he was alive.

"At the very least, they want to see proof of the wreckage," he said.

Another friend, Peter Chong, said all the allegations against Zaharie were unsubstantiated.

"He is actually a victim of the whole issue," he said.
