MH370 search: More than 3,000 people hold mass prayers

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 3,000 people held a mass prayer for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 at Wisma MCA here on Sunday morning.

MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the wish of everyone was the safe return of Flight MH370, as soon as possible.

"At the same time, we are also doing whatever possible to render support and care for the loved ones of those on board," he said at his opening speech at Wisma MCA here.

The event, organised by MCA, was attended by among others, Buddhist groups, family members of Chinese passengers on board MH370 and Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Huang HuiKang.

Huang said he was touched by the support given by everybody since the disappearance of Flight MH370.

He hoped the people's prayers for the safe return of Flight MH370 would be answered.

The ceremony continued with Liow, his deputy Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, other MCA leaders and masters of Buddhist groups on stage for a prayer ceremony led by Malaysian Buddhist Association president Ven Jit Heng.

The other Buddhist groups who also took turns to lead the prayer ceremony were Theravada Buddhism Masters, Vajrayana Buddhism Masters and Mahayana Buddhism Masters.
