Millionaire monk to give bodyguard $40,000 ang pow

Self-proclaimed Chinese millionaire Zhang Jian will attend his bodyguard's wedding ceremony in Malaysia on Sunday, reported China Press.

The founder of the controversial YSLM multi-level marketing business, who is currently a monk at a temple in Thailand, was said to have been given the green light to attend the ceremony.

The company's charity wing chairman, Datuk John Lee Kim Tian, said Zhang who was undergoing a 100-day temporary ordination programme at the temple was not supposed to leave the premises.

The temple authorities, however, made the exception after Zhang explained his intention, Lee said.

"He wanted to give a RM100,000 (S$40,000) ang pow to his bodyguard personally."

YSLM - also known as Yun Shu Mao - is under investigation for links to a get-rich-quick scam.
