SEPANG - Malaysia is sending a high-level team to Beijing to update the next-of-kin of the Chinese passengers on the latest situation surrounding MH370.
The team would also give briefings on search plans, said Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
"The team will include representatives from the Prime Minister's Office, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Royal Malaysian Air Force, Department of Civil Aviation and Malaysia Airlines.
"It will be led by RMAF air operations commander Lt General Datuk Seri Ackbal Abdul Samad who will be assisted by DCA air traffic services director Ahmad Nizar Zolfakar," Hishammuddin said yesterday.
A senior Boeing 777 pilot would also be included in the team.
"This high-level team is in addition to the team that is already on the ground (in Beijing).
Unlike the next-of-kin of Chinese passengers in Beijing who have threatened to go on a hunger strike, their counterparts in Cyberjaya were seen regularly enjoying their meals at a restaurant in a hotel there.
