JOHOR BARU - Small pieces of flesh and skin believed to be from a baby, whose body was cut into 15 pieces, have been found at the same sewerage plant in the Kempas Permai public housing area.
Johor police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Rusli Ahmad said police found the parts at around 5pm on Tuesday following checks with the plant maintenance workers.
He said the parts had been sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for DNA testing.
"However, we have yet to locate the infant's head," he told reporters at the Johor Baru (North) district police headquarters here yesterday.
SDCP Rusli said police had received good co-operation from the Kempas Permai public housing residents.
"But the police need vital information to help us with the ongoing investigations, especially to find those responsible for the act.
"I hope the residents or anybody else with information come to us immediately," he said, adding that police had recorded three statements.
It was reported that workers cleaning a waste trap at a sewerage plant found 15 pieces of an infant on Sunday at around 1.30pm.
It is believed that the parts were flushed down a toilet before they became stuck at the waste trap of the sewerage plant.
