Mother says twins sexually abused at welfare home

MALAYSIA - A mother is crying foul after finding out that her seven-year-old son may have been sodomised just months after his twin brother suffered the same fate at a welfare home in Negri Sembilan.

The domestic helper, who lodged a police report last Thursday, said she never thought that the same fate would befall her other son, reported Harian Metro.

"What sins are my disabled twins guilty of?" the 40-year-old woman, identified only as Intan, asked.

She said her youngest son, who is six, saw his brother being tied up and slapped before being sodomised by a resident at the centre on Sept 29.

"I hope the authorities will take action," said Intan, who is from Sandakan, Sabah.

Another resident had sodomised her other son in April.

Intan was forced to send her three children to the welfare home earlier this year after her in-laws chased them out of their home.

Negri Sembilan Welfare Department director Abdullah Hanafi said that they would leave it to the police to probe the allegations.

He acknowledged that the case of the other twin having been sodomised on April 16 was pending in court.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Abu said investigations were underway.
