Motorcyclists killed in freak accidents

PETALING JAYA - A freak accident along the Subang Airport highway left a motorcyclist dead after the 33-year-old fell off his bike and was crushed under a lorry.

Al-Faisel Abdul Kader was reportedly travelling from Sungai Buloh towards the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport at 11.15am yesterday when he collided with another motorcycle travelling in the same direction.

Petaling Jaya traffic police chief Deputy Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the collision threw both motorcyclists off their machines onto the four-lane highway and an oncoming lorry crushed Al-Faisel under its wheel.

"The victim died at the scene. The other motorcyclist and lorry driver escaped unhurt. We have taken all three vehicles to the city police headquarters for investigation.

"Al-Faisel's body has been taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem," he said.

DSP Mohamad Roy reported that another freak accident occurred along KM28.7 of the Federal Highway at 5am yesterday.

He said Jalwinder Singh Bentwant Singh, 18, was believed to have lost control of his motorcycle while travelling towards Kuala Lumpur.

"The victim was flung from the machine and hit a bus stop sign. The impact killed him," DSP Mohamad Roy said.

Both accidents are being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
