KUALA LUMPUR: Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian has retracted his motion on a vote of no confidence against Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said said Hee's motion, which was listed as item number 27 on the order paper for Monday, was withdrawn through a written notice sent by the PKR MP.

"This is to announce that the motion tabled by PJ Selatan is hereby retracted by way of a written notice submitted by him to the Speaker's office," Ismail said before the start of proceedings on Monday.

Hee retracted his motion after it was agreed that Opposition leader and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail would bring a motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister.

DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng had also expressed his dissatisfaction that Hee had submitted the motion, when it was more appropriate for the Opposition leader in Parliament to do so.

Wan Azizah, who is Permatang Pauh MP, tabled her motion of no confidence against Najib on Oct 22.

It is listed as item number 31 on the order paper for Monday.
