Nasi kandar outlet raided after complaints of overcharging

Enforcement officers swung into action at a nasi kandar restaurant in Seremban following complaints that it was charging RM4 for two half boiled eggs on the third day of Hari Raya.

Harian Metro quoted a Domestic Trade, Co-Operatives and Consumerism official as saying that the complaints surfaced in Facebook about the shop which also charged 60 sen for a glass of warm water.

He said a team of officers went to the shop undercover but the restaurant staff somehow knew about their presence and promptly billed them the usual cost of RM2 for two half boiled eggs and 20 sen for a drink of plain water.

However, the restaurant owner was given two compounds for not displaying a price tag and for not issuing a detailed receipt.
