Newborn found alive after being pronounced dead

MALAYSIA - A newborn was found alive nearly two hours after he was pronounced dead at a government hospital near Bhopal, northern India.

He started kicking minutes before his burial and survived for another one hour, Makkal Osai reported.

The baby was delivered at a community health centre in Bijuri, about 50km from Bhopal, on Friday.

Later, he was sent to the district hospital where he showed no vital signs.

The baby was declared dead and placed under a sheet.

His parents took the baby home and started informing relatives about the funeral.

Thirty minutes later, the baby began to kick suddenly.

It was then that the father detected a pulse, so he took the baby to a private clinic near his house.

Doctors confirmed the boy was alive and referred him back to the district hospital.

However, his condition worsened on the way to the hospital, and the newborn boy only survived for an hour more.

This time, the doctors examined him thrice before issuing the death certificate.
