PETALING JAYA - Following reports that a company director has been remanded by a magistrate's court, 1Malaysia Development Bhd has stated the person concerned is not its employee.

"1MDB notes media reports regarding an individual remanded by the magistrate's court in connection with ongoing investigations by the Task Force," it said in a statement Tuesday.

"No 1MDB employees are under remand.

"1MDB reiterates our commitment to fully co-operate with all lawful authorities that are currently investigating 1MDB," it said.

The man, a construction and property development company director sought by the special task force investigating 1MDB funds, was remanded for four days by a Putrajaya magistrate's court Tuesday.

It is believed that the 39-year-old director was arrested Monday as the Kuala Lumpur International Airport as he was about to board a flight.
