A street performer with one arm from China is showing off his "earnings" on Facebook, claiming that he can rake in RM400 (S$142) a day by begging at eateries in Pahang.
China Press reported that the tools of his trade were a portable amplifier, a microphone and a biscuit tin.
The daily photographed the man, known only as Chen, entering restaurants at Gohtong Jaya, Pahang, and singing popular Chinese tunes.
He would enter each restaurant about five times a day.
Some outlets felt that he was a nuisance and had banned him from their premises. Chen said he was saddened by the "bullying".
He claimed that he had a family of five to feed back in Hunan, adding that he lost his left arm 10 years ago when fireworks he was lighting exploded.
Apparently, he is part of the "Beggars Clan", a group which originated in China hundreds of years ago. Chen reportedly has to share half of his earnings with the clan.
