JOHOR BARU - Palace staff who looked after Tunku Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim from her formative years will join other invited guests who include the royalty and politicians at her wedding.

Tunku Aminah, 31, is set to marry Dutch-born Dennis Muhammad Abdullah on Aug 14.

The princess told the Royal Press Office that the staff, including stable boys who taught her how to ride, drivers who drove her to school and Johor Military Force soldiers and bodyguards who protected the royal family, had a special place in her heart.

Tunku Aminah, the only daughther of the Sultan and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, grew up with her five brothers at Istana Pasir Pelangi here.

"These are the people I grew up with and they are special to me. I want all of them to be at my wedding to share my happiness," the princess said.

She added that the drivers and bodyguards who ferried her around would remind her that she was the only princess and advised her to be good.

"Every afternoon after school, I would be with my brothers and we would play with the stable boys. We would eat together at the stable warong (stall).

"In addition to the stable boys, I am also inviting all the other staff who looked after us.

"They were all part of my childhood and they taught me the values of dedicated service, loyalty and kindness," Tunku Aminah said.

As a commemorative wedding gift, each of the long serving staff will receive a special souvenir personally designed by the princess.
