The parents could not accept their baby's death and decided to perform some rituals to bring their child back to life.

MALAYSIA - A couple in Miri kept the body of their stillborn baby for four days, hoping to "bring it back to life" through some rituals, reported Metro Ahad.

The landlord of the house where the couple were staying, however, lodged a police report after finding out about the dead infant.

The baby, believed to the couple's first child, was delivered stillborn early on Tuesday morning.

A source said the couple, aged 27 and 30, were unable to accept their baby's death and decided to perform some rituals to bring their child back to life.

The couple were said to have to performed the rituals with their parents' help but when this failed, the man contacted the landlord on Friday.

"The landlord immediately lodged a police report. Police rushed to the house and found the baby's body in a room on the ground floor of the double-storey house," said the source.

The body was sent to Miri Hospital while the parents had been taken in by the police for questioning.
