KLANG: Part of a pedestrian bridge along Jalan Meru collapsed after a trailer struck a corner of the structure at about 7.30pm Sunday.
No one was hurt in the incident.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department received a call on the incident at about 8.05pm.
"A pillar supporting one side of the concrete bridge gave way, causing the structure and its metal roofing to collapse.
"The fallen structure also damaged an underground pipe," he said, adding that a team of seven firemen were rushed to the scene.
Police have cordoned off the area with barricades to allow Public Works Department officers to carry out an investigation.
The incident had caused a brief traffic snarl along the main road.
