SEBERANG JAYA - PAS deputy president Mat Sabu was arrested Friday night while having dinner at a restaurant here.

Mat Sabu, whose real name is Mohamad Sabu, was taken by police to the Seberang Jaya police station.

PAS national unity bureau chief Datuk Mujahid Yusof Rawa, met outside the police station, said he was not allowed to meet Mat Sabu.

"I'm here to pass him his medications but I'm not allowed to go in.

"We're not sure why he is arrested but we think it's under the Sedition Act as he will be attending the #KitaLawan rally tomorrow (Saturday)," he said.

The first #KitaLawan rally was held on March 7 outside the Sogo Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Saturday's rally is also expected to gatecrash the wedding reception of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's daughter.

Najib's daughter Nooryana Najwa was married to Uzbekistan national Daniyar Kessikbayev last week.

Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, together with Daniyar's family, will hold a wedding reception at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on Saturday.

The #KitaLawan rally is intended as a show of support for Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was jailed five years for sodomy.
