Penang man slashes twin over money

GEORGE TOWN - A 36-year-old man suffered multiple injuries after he was attacked by his parang-wielding twin brother due to a ruthless sibling rivalry.

The attack was allegedly over some money matters. The victim was slashed at least 10 times on the head and body during the 8.20pm incident at the Jelutong dumpsite here on Friday.

The twins' 37-year-old sister fractured her hand when she tried to break up the fight.

The two victims sought help at a nearby petrol station and were rushed to the Penang Hospital for treatment.

The suspect fled the scene.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said police believed the fight was due to a misunderstanding over some financial matters.

He said police had recorded a statement from the sister and was looking for the assailant.
