PETALING JAYA - A beautifully-filmed Kaamatan and Gawai greeting is the latest short film from Petronas Malaysia whose festival greetings have moved Malaysians from all walks of life.
Showcasing the Kaamatan and Gawai Dayak harvest thanksgiving celebrations - marked in Sabah and Sarawak respectively - the two-minute video features beautiful shots of the two eastern states as well as Sabahans and Sarawakians in native Kadazandusun, Iban and other traditional outfits.
The narration praises the nature of Sabah and Sarawak before wishing viewers Kotobian Tadau Kaamatan (Happy Harvest festival) and gayu guru gerai nyamai (long life, health and prosperity).
The video garnered more than 187,000 views on Petronas' YouTube channel, which also has a selection of 12 mini-documentaries on the culture, festivals and arts of Sabah and Sarawak.
Petronas' Facebook page also shared the video, which received many shares and likes.
