PASIR PUTEH - Munah Jusoh dreamt of performing asar prayers near the Kaabah.

She realised her dream on the first day she arrived in Mecca - and it was also the last thing she did before she was killed in the crane tragedy in Mecca on Friday.

Munah told her daughter Halimah Che Muda of her dream a day before she left for Mecca to perform the haj.

Halimah related how excited her mother was about visiting the holy land and about her dream of performing the evening prayers near the Kaabah.

"And her dream came true. She died while performing asar prayers near the Kaabah," said Halimah at her house in Kampung Bukit Kechik, Cherang Ruku, near here, yesterday.

Munah, 73, was one of five Malaysians who have been confirmed dead in the crane tragedy that also claimed about 100 other pilgrims and injured hundreds.

Halimah said that before this her mother had also dreamt of going on pilgrimage to the holy land even before her application to do so was approved by Tabung Haji.

Munah went to Mecca perform her haj with her husband Che Muda Che Tahir, 76.

Halimah added that her mother's last words to her children was to pray for her well-being in Mecca.

She added that her mother was excited after Tabung Haji approved her application because she had been cheated earlier of RM7,000 for an umrah package during Ramadan.

"All my siblings have accepted my mother's death. She died in the holy land, which is a great thing in Islam," she said.

Relatives, neighbours and friends visited Munah's house to extend their condolences after Halimah's death was confirmed.
