PUTRAJAYA -The meeting between Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and a senior Barisan Nasional (BN) leader said to be leading the plot to topple the government was cancelled upon request by the "plotter", according to the Deputy Prime Minister.

The BN leader was supposed to meet the Prime Minister on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he expected a new date for the meeting to be set later.

"The meeting was cancelled on the request of the individual.

"No reason was given but the person was probably informed of the huge media presence at the Prime Minister's residence," Dr Ahmad Zahid said after chairing the Cabinet committee on foreign workers here.

He also said that he had given police the relevant information regarding the plot to topple the government.

" I understand there is also a police report lodged over the matter," Dr Ahmad Zahid added.
