KUALA LUMPUR - The family of murdered deputy public prosecutor Anthony Kevin Morais is claiming that the police has asked them to claim his body from the KL Hospital mortuary.

But the family has refused to claim the body which had been in the mortuary since Sept 16. They want a second autopsy done.

During a closed-door meeting with police, pathologists and a representative from the Attorney-General's Chambers, a spokesman for the family claimed that they were asked to claim the body quickly to "put an end to speculation".

The family members claim they still do not know the cause of Morais' death. They also want the post-mortem report of the first autopsy.

The spokesman claimed that police had verbally confirmed to them that the cause of the DPP's death was asphyxiation.

However, the family would need to obtain approval from the Attorney-General before they can view a copy of the post-mortem report in Putrajaya.

"Police said we can't have a copy because they did not want to see it out on social media," claimed the spokesman.
