More than 10,000 Penang Umno members will be attending the planned red shirt rally at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur, said Penang Umno chairman Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Osman.

Zainal Abidin said the party received feedback from its members who expressed interest to take part in the rally.

"They wanted to show their support to the Government to continue handling the nation's economy, and to place Malaysia on track as a progressive country. "I will also be there at the rally," he told a press conference at Menara Boustead in Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah here on Tuesday.
