Restaurant worker killed in accident on way to S'pore

GELANG PATAH: A restaurant worker died at the scene of the accident after he lost control of his motorcycle and rammed into the back of a trailer at KM13.7 along the Second Link highway.

Chew Kwai Loi, 48, was on his way to Singapore with a 53-year-old unidentified friend at about 4.30am yesterday, Nusajaya OCPD Supt Noor Hashim Mohamad said.

He said initial investigations showed that Chew might have lost control of his machine.

"According to the 34-year-old trailer driver, he felt something had hit the back of his trailer. Upon inspection, he found both victims on the ground," he said.

"The pillion rider, who suffered minor injuries, has been sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru for treatment," he said.
