Kuala Lumpur: Police busted a major drug syndicate and seized RM4.62mil(S$1.5 million) in narcotics along Jalan Ampang.
The raid, conducted around 2.30pm on Monday, also saw the arrest of five men, including the mastermind.
Police nabbed the men outside a popular shopping centre along Jalan Ampang and drugs worth about RM240,000 were found in their car, said Selangor Narcotics chief Asst Comm Amran Ramli.
"We were then led to Vista Damai condominium in Kuala Lumpur by one of the suspects where we seized various drugs and pills," he said yesterday.
The drugs found at the condominium were 110,950 yaba pills (pil kuda), 52,900 ecstasy pills, 724g of ketamine and 50g of syabu.
The estimated value of the drugs seized is about RM4.62mil. Police also seized two cars.
ACP Amran said the group had been active for about six months and got their supplies from neighbouring countries.
"This is the first time we have come across yaba pills in Kuala Lumpur. Usually they are only found in the northern states," he said.
