SUBANG JAYA, Malaysia - They certainly took "note" as seen by their willingness to put up with the long wait to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which made its debut in Malaysia.
Captivated by its advertisement tagline of "Do You Note?", eager beavers came as early as 6am to the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall yesterday to be among the first to buy the phablet.
However, software engineer Chong Yan Jie, 24, beat them all by arriving at 3am.
"My car broke down so I got a friend to drop me off in Sunway Pyramid. When I arrived I saw the Samsung employees and they let me in," he said.
Chong said the phone would enable him to multi-task, adding that he was excited to try the stylus called S Pen.
The RM2,499 (S$972.91) Note 4 has a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 3.7 megapixel front camera which is perfect for group selfies.
It is available in two colours - charcoal black and frost white.
Samsung Malaysia Electronics president Lee Dong Yong said that a three-day tour in Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Baru and Pahang would introduce the new device to consumers there.
"This way, our customers can correlate our product with their lifestyle that will simplify their day to day tasks," he said.
Samsung, alongside its partners - Celcom, DiGi, Harvey Norman and Maxis - will set up booths till Oct 19 at the Blue Concourse, Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall to enable consumers to make their purchases with ease.
The first 100 buyers who purchase a Note 4 at participating Samsung Experience Stores and authorised dealers will receive a Gear Circle.
